Canada is finally investing in natural infrastructure.
The April federal budget released introduced The Natural Infrastructure Fund – at $200 million over three years. Some $120 million of the budget is allocated towards cities, with $20 million dedicated to larger projects, and the remainder for smaller projects.
It’s a good step, but this investment needs to be increased tenfold. As we draw closer to a prospective federal election, we need to amplify the discussion on natural infrastructure and push for more investment in a green economy.
